Gold prices rise in Yemen and Jordan
Gold prices experienced increases in both the Yemeni and Jordanian markets on October 27, 2026.
In Yemen, gold prices rose slightly in Sanaa and Aden. In government-controlled areas like Aden, 21-karat gold reached approximately 176,000 Yemeni riyals per gram. In Houthi-controlled Sanaa, 21-karat gold rose to about 60,400 riyals. Despite these fluctuations, foreign exchange rates remained stable despite a shortage of foreign currency. The significant disparity in gold pricing between the north and south of Yemen is attributed to structural exchange rate differences and existing financial divisions.
In Jordan, the General Syndicate of Owners of Jewelry and Gold Shops reported a morning price increase. The selling price for 21-karat gold reached 81.600 Jordanian dinars per gram, while the purchase price from citizens was 77.800 dinars. Other prices included 24-karat gold at 93.600 dinars for selling and 18-karat gold at 72.200 dinars for selling. Gold lira prices also saw movement, with the English lira selling at 657.800 dinars.
