Gold prices show mixed trends in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia
Gold market rates showed varying trends in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on August 10, 2026. In Pakistan, 24-karat gold prices remained steady at approximately Rs449,500 per tola, with 22-karat gold priced around Rs412,039 per tola. Local rates are heavily influenced by international bullion prices, which have recently traded near $4,356 per ounce, and the movement of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
In contrast, gold prices in Saudi Arabia experienced a decline. The price for gold stood at 523.63 Saudi Riyals (SAR) per gram, a decrease from the SAR 524.23 recorded on the previous Friday. The price per tola also fell to SAR 6,107.48 from SAR 6,114.55.
Global gold demand continues to be driven by its status as a safe-haven asset and a hedge against inflation. Central banks, particularly in emerging economies like China, India, and Turkey, have historically increased gold reserves to diversify assets and support currency strength during periods of geopolitical or economic instability.
