World spot gold was quoted near $4 043 per ounce on 2 August and rose to about $4 060 per ounce on 3 August. The U.S. Federal Reserve kept its policy rate unchanged at 3.5 %–3.75 % during the same period. In parallel, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a suspension of planned attacks on Iran, a development that briefly lifted market sentiment.

Domestic silver prices stayed stable, with the 999 1 kg bar trading around 57.4–59.1 million VND per kilogram, equivalent to just over $58 per ounce.
