Gold price forecasts rise as major banks target $5,600 by 2027

Major investment banks have updated their long-term gold price forecasts amid rising global economic uncertainty and central bank activity. Morgan Stanley anticipates that gold could surpass $5,000 per ounce by 2027, driven by expectations of stable Federal Reserve interest rates and increased demand from central banks in countries like China and Poland. Wells Fargo has set a 2027 target range of $5,400 to $5,600 per ounce, despite revising its 2026 year-end target to between $4,900 and $5,100 due to anticipated interest rate hikes.

Goldman Sachs maintains a 2026 year-end target of $4,900 per ounce but warns that significant upside risks remain. The bank also cautioned that increased volatility could occur in both directions, as market makers adjust hedge positions.

In the local Turkish market, gram gold prices have seen significant surges, recently breaking the 7,000 TL threshold. This upward trend is supported by the rise in international ounce prices, which reached over $4,600 in August, and fluctuations in the USD/TRY exchange rate.
