GoldBod partners B-Light Jewellery to expand gold value addition in Ghana

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has partnered with B-Light Jewellery to expand the availability of locally finished gold jewellery and gold tablets across Ghana’s Western, Central, and Western North regions. The collaboration is part of GoldBod Jewellery’s Local Expansion Partnership Programme, which utilizes retailers, agents, and franchisees to increase consumer access to value-added gold products.

A new showroom was opened at the Takoradi Mall in the Western Region to support this initiative. Managing Director Gertrude Emefa Donkor stated that the expansion aims to drive economic empowerment, create jobs for youth, and ensure greater value retention within Ghana by processing gold locally rather than primarily exporting it in raw form.

To support this transition, GoldBod Jewellery is investing in modern machinery, infrastructure, and staff training. The company is also constructing an ultra-modern production facility designed to scale up output for the domestic market and prepare Ghanaian jewellery to compete in international markets.
