Golden Coast Festival announces smoking ban for 2026

The Golden Coast Festival has announced a total smoking ban across its entire site for the 2026 edition, scheduled from August 28 to 30 at the Parc de la Combe à la Serpent near Dijon.

The decision is primarily a safety measure to mitigate fire risks caused by high summer temperatures and drought conditions in the sensitive wooded environment. Organizers stated that the ban aims to prevent fires from discarded cigarette butts and to improve the overall comfort of the tens of thousands of attendees by reducing secondhand smoke exposure.
