Golden Owl report identifies Blocus network activity across Spain
An intelligence report by the technology firm Golden Owl has identified signs of activity from the 'Blocus' network in 18 Spanish locations across 11 autonomous communities. The study, which analyzed over 10,000 elements across seven digital platforms, links the network to the disturbances that occurred in Barcelona on October 24.
The investigation, titled ‘From the Barcelona disturbances to a national threat: the expansion of Blocus alerts of the risk of new episodes of coordinated violence’, suggests the group aims to extend its actions to various cities, including Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, Sevilla, and A Coruña. The report notes that organizers may attempt to move planned actions forward to avoid police deployment.
Specific targets mentioned in digital communications include luxury retailers such as Rolex, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Hermès in Barcelona, as well as electronics retailers like MediaMarkt and Game. The network reportedly uses social media platforms like TikTok to promote social and educational claims, directing users to private Telegram and WhatsApp groups via QR codes and direct messages.
