Golden retriever attempts to play with intruder during home break-in

A golden retriever named Nash gained viral attention after responding to a home break-in by attempting to play with the intruder. Security footage captured the dog approaching the man, who had entered through an upstairs window, and repeatedly offering various stuffed toys in an attempt to engage him in play.

The homeowners received an alert from their Ring camera during the incident and contacted the police. While the dog initially hid under a table when the stranger entered, he eventually approached the man with a wagging tail and toys. The intruder reportedly ignored the offerings and left without taking anything.

Although the dog did not act as a deterrent, the burglar was eventually arrested by responding officers. The owners stated that despite his lack of guard dog instincts, Nash remains a ‘star’ in their eyes.
