Golden State Valkyries surpass $100 million in annual revenue

The Golden State Valkyries have become the first women’s professional sports franchise to exceed $100 million in annual gross revenue. During their 2026 campaign, the WNBA expansion team reached this financial milestone driven by sold-out crowds at the Chase Center, premium venue yields, and a sponsorship portfolio involving over forty corporate brands. The franchise was previously valued at $1 billion.

On the court, the Valkyries reached the WNBA Finals in only their second season. After a 32-12 regular-season record, the team secured a first-round victory over the Dallas Wings and a semi-final sweep of the Las Vegas Aces. The team's success is attributed to a calculated organizational strategy and a roster built around two-way players and a defense-first culture.

Owner Joe Lacob’s involvement in women’s professional basketball dates back to the San Jose Lasers in 1996. Since beginning play in 2025, the Valkyries have maintained a streak of 44 consecutive regular-season home game sellouts and became the first WNBA team to average over 18,000 fans per game across a full season.
