Golden State Warriors announce coaching hires and staff promotions

The Golden State Warriors have announced several front office hirings and promotions ahead of the upcoming NBA season. Most notably, Frank Vogel has joined Steve Kerr’s coaching staff as Associate Head Coach, replacing Terry Stotts. Vogel brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as head coach for the Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Phoenix Suns.

On the player development side, the organization has implemented several changes. Ben Stelzer has been promoted to Head Video Coordinator/Player Development Coach, while Everett Dayton has moved from Player Development Coach to Director of Player Development/Assistant Coach. Additionally, Tyler Larsen has transitioned from the Santa Cruz Warriors to a Player Development Coach role for the NBA squad.

Separately, the team faces upcoming contract decisions regarding Brandin Podziemski. The 23-year-old is eligible for a rookie contract extension before an October 19 deadline. If an agreement is not reached, Podziemski will become a restricted free agent next summer. Following a season where he played all 82 games and averaged 13.8 points, the team must weigh his value as a connector against potential market comparisons for similar young players.
