Golden State Warriors face discrimination lawsuit and announce Hawai’i training camp

The Golden State Warriors are facing a legal challenge and preparing for their upcoming preseason. Two former employees, Lisa Shelley and Jennifer Vasquez, filed a lawsuit in San Francisco County Superior Court alleging gender, race, and age discrimination, retaliation, and a hostile workplace environment.

Shelley, a former associate general counsel, claims she was terminated in December 2025 after raising concerns regarding workplace practices and the handling of an employee-engagement survey. The Warriors have strongly denied these allegations, stating the claims are “false, misleading, and unsupported by credible evidence” and noting that previous investigations found similar complaints to be without merit.

Separately, the Warriors announced they will hold their fall training camp at the BYU-Hawaiʻi campus. The team’s preseason schedule includes a game against the Clippers in Honolulu on October 4, followed by matchups against the Lakers, Portland, Sacramento, and Portland again.
