Stephen Curry intends to finish career with Warriors, says GM

Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. has expressed confidence that superstar guard Stephen Curry intends to finish his professional basketball career with the franchise. While Curry is entering the final year of an expiring $62.5 million contract, Dunleavy noted that the player has expressed a strong desire to remain in San Francisco and win.

Curry will become eligible for a contract extension of up to two years and approximately $136.7 million on August 29. Although the organization is not actively seeking to move him, Dunleavy stated that if Curry were to request a trade, the team would honor his decision, noting, “He’s earned the right to do what he wants.”

To bolster the roster around Curry, the Warriors are exploring several options in the free agent market. Potential targets include veteran Georges Niang and guard Brandon Williams to provide depth and perimeter shooting. The team's recent offseason has focused largely on re-signing existing talent, such as Draymond Green, rather than major external acquisitions.
