Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg shines in Summer League debut
First-round pick Yaxel Lendeborg recorded 19 points, six assists and five rebounds while shooting 4‑for‑4 from three‑point range in the Golden State Warriors’ 104‑72 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at the California Classic Summer League in San Francisco. After the game he posted an Instagram story acknowledging he was close to a triple‑double and admitted he “messed up” on defense, a self‑assessment echoed by Warriors summer‑league coach Khalid Robinson.
Meanwhile the Los Angeles Lakers re‑signed defensive specialist Chris Manon to a two‑way contract for the 2026‑27 season, filling their final two‑way roster slot. The Lakers also secured two‑way deals with Peter Suder and AK Okereke. The G‑League affiliate, previously known as the South Bay Lakers, will be renamed the Coachella Valley Lakers and relocate to the Greater Palm Springs area next season.
