Golden State Warriors seek roster overhaul to fix frontcourt and age issues

NBA analysts suggest the Golden State Warriors could trade Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, a protected 2028 first‑round pick and a 2032 second‑round pick to the Sacramento Kings for All‑Star forward Domantas Sabonis and guard Malik Monk. The move would give the Warriors a long‑term solution at centre after the possible loss of Butler to injury and free agency, while the Kings would gain contract flexibility as Butler’s deal expires in 2027.

The franchise also aims to avoid repeating last season’s missteps of adding older players. Former staffer Mike Dunleavy Jr. plans to use the non‑taxpayer mid‑level exception to target younger, prime‑aged talent, eyeing options such as Anfernee Simons, Collin Sexton, Robert Williams III, Jordan Goodwin or even high‑profile names like LeBron James or Andrew Wiggins. The goal is to add positional size on the wing and fresh ball‑handling while keeping the roster youthful.
