Goldman Sachs to acquire food supply chain provider Tosca
Goldman Sachs Alternatives has reached an agreement to acquire Tosca, an Atlanta-based provider of reusable plastic packaging and asset pooling solutions for the food supply chain, from Apax Partners. The transaction is expected to close in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Tosca operates a pooling system of reusable plastic containers, pallets, and bulk bins designed to help food producers, distributors, and retailers reduce waste and improve efficiency. The company manages the entire lifecycle of these assets, including delivery, collection, tracking, and sanitation. Tosca currently serves more than 5,000 customers across 30 countries in North America and Europe, operating a network of 63 service and wash centers.
Goldman Sachs intends to support Tosca’s growth by investing in its asset base, technology capabilities, and operational platform. Tosca CEO Eric Frank noted the acquisition as an exciting milestone, highlighting the company's transition from a regional pooler toward a more expansive platform.
