Goleta announces community event and roadwork updates

The City of Goleta is hosting its final ‘Coffee & Community / Café y Comunidad’ event of 2026 on Saturday, Nov. 14, at El Sitio restaurant. The gathering will feature Mayor Paula Perotte and Mayor Pro Tempore Jennifer Smith, providing residents an opportunity to discuss local issues such as housing, traffic safety, the Crib Wall project, and El Niño preparations.

Separately, the city has announced rescheduled drainage work as part of the Project Connect infrastructure improvements. Starting Monday, Oct. 12, a partial closure will affect the Hollister Avenue roundabout near the Highway 217 exit and Dearborn Place. The 24-hour closure will restrict eastbound movement on Hollister Avenue, and drivers are advised to use Ward Drive or Highway 101 via Patterson Avenue as detours.
