Goleta announces partial closure of Hollister Avenue roundabout

The City of Goleta has announced a partial closure of the Hollister Avenue roundabout beginning Thursday, October 8, 2026. The closure is necessary to facilitate drainage work at the west end of the roundabout near the Highway 217 southbound off-ramp and Dearborn Place.

The work is expected to last approximately one week and will operate 24 hours a day. During this period, drivers exiting Dearborn Place or the southbound Highway 217 off-ramp will be permitted to turn right onto Hollister Avenue but will be unable to travel eastbound. Those needing to head eastbound are advised to turn right onto Hollister Avenue and find a safe location to perform a U-turn.

This project is part of the ongoing Project Connect initiative, which focuses on transportation and infrastructure improvements within the Hollister Avenue and Highway 217 areas. Local authorities advise motorists to follow posted signs and allow for potential traffic delays.
