Golf: Stanford and Ward lead Woodford Legends Invitational

In the opening round of the Woodford Legends Invitational, the team of Angela Stanford and Wendy Ward took a one-shot lead. Playing in a scramble format, the duo finished with a birdie on the 18th hole to edge out several competitors.

Other top performers include the teams of Nancy Scranton and Ashli Bunch, Suzy Whaley and Leta Lindley, and Liselotte Neumann and Jane Geddes, all of whom finished at 13 under par. The tournament features a highly competitive field of Legends of the LPGA players.

Separately, England Deaf Golf has announced its 24-player national squad for the World Deaf Golf Championships in Sweden. The selection includes the organization's largest-ever women’s contingent alongside experienced men and seniors divisions, following an intensive evaluation process.
