Sumitomo Life Vitality Ladies Tokai Classic sees mixed results for top golfers

The Sumitomo Life Vitality Ladies Tokai Classic at Shin Nan Aichi CC Mimihama Course has seen mixed performances from top Japanese female golfers during the opening rounds.

Yui Kawamoto experienced a difficult second round, recording a personal worst score of 10 on a single par-4 hole after multiple out-of-bounds shots. Despite the setback, she managed to finish with a 77, placing her at even par and securing a spot within the cut line.

Former tournament champion Hinako Shibuno struggled through both the first and second rounds. After a disappointing start on day one, she finished the second round at 1-over par, placing her 63rd and leaving her likely to miss the cut.

Defending champion Sora Kamiya expressed frustration with her recent results despite maintaining a high ranking. Meanwhile, Hana Wakimoto enters the tournament in good form following a top-10 finish at a recent major, managing her ongoing recovery from spinal surgery with specialized medical equipment.
