Golkar Party Grapples with Internal Disputes Over AMPI Leadership and Wonosobo Cadre Complaint
On 4–5 August 2026, a delegation of Golkar cadres from Wonosobo travelled to the DPP headquarters in Jakarta, where they were received by Deputy Secretary‑General Derek Loupatty of the Party’s Court. The group, led by a representative identified as Khakmim, submitted a formal complaint requesting clarification on why a decision on the DPD II leadership had not been issued after the regional congress (Musda) and asked for details about the Musda held in Semarang on 25 July 2026. Khakmim said, “We came to convey our aspirations through the official mechanisms of the party, hoping the process can be clarified according to the rules.”
Separately, Fahd El Fouz Arafiq, head of the Organisation Department of Golkar’s DPP, reported to party chairman Bahlil Lahadalia on 5 August 2026 that the youth wing Angkatan Muda Pembaharuan Indonesia (AMPI) was experiencing serious internal turmoil after the dismissal of Roby Anugerah Marpaung as secretary‑general. The DPP and representatives from 27 provincial branches convened an expanded plenary, deciding to remove Jerry Sambuaga as AMPI chair and appoint Mafa Uswanas as acting chair to restore stability and prepare for the September 2026 national congress.
