Golkar Party launches national short film competition
To celebrate its 62nd anniversary, the Golkar Party has launched a national short film competition titled ‘From Zero to Hero’. The initiative aims to provide a platform for young filmmakers and the general public to express narratives of personal struggle and transformation through visual media.
According to Nurul Arifin, a member of the DPR and Golkar DPP Chairperson, the theme focuses on individuals who rise from difficult circumstances to become heroes for their families, communities, or the wider environment. The competition encourages filmmakers to address pressing social issues, such as education challenges, employment difficulties, economic struggles, and climate change.
Entries are limited to a maximum duration of 10 minutes. The competition features two distinct categories: ‘Real Actor’ for conventional filmmaking and a category specifically for films created using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Judging criteria will focus on thematic relevance, narrative structure, and originality.
Registration is open from October 1 to November 15. Prizes include a total of Rp 200 million and a film studies trip to Busan, South Korea, for two winners.
