Gombak authorities raid premises suspected of spreading Ahmadiyyah teachings

Authorities conducted an integrated operation targeting premises suspected of spreading Ahmadiyyah or Qadiani teachings in Kampung Nakhoda and Kampung Laksmana, Gombak. The raids involved 207 personnel from six enforcement agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Immigration Department.

During the operation, 184 individuals were inspected, resulting in the arrest of six foreign nationals suspected of violating the Immigration Act 1959/63. Three local men, believed to be leaders of the movement, were questioned but subsequently released. The premises included a mosque in Kampung Nakhoda that reportedly lacked authorization from the Islamic Religious Council to perform Friday prayers.

Multiple regulatory violations were identified. The Ministry of Home Affairs took action regarding offenses under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 and the Quran Printing Act 1986. Additionally, the Selayang Municipal Council addressed business licensing and unauthorized construction issues, while the Fire and Rescue Department noted fire safety non-compliance, such as inadequate fire extinguishers and emergency exits.
