Gombe State LG Elections Yield APC Sweep Amid Peaceful Voting

Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya said the local government elections in Gombe State were peaceful, free and fair, noting an impressive voter turnout and orderly conduct by voters and officials.

The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission announced that the All Progressives Congress won every contested position: all 11 local government chairmanship seats, 13 Local Council Development Area chairmanships and all 240 councillorship seats. The APC was the only party to field candidates in every ward, while other parties contested only selected areas.

The governor praised the results, congratulating the newly elected officials and urging them to serve the community transparently and inclusively. He also highlighted the creation of the 13 LCDAs, a move intended to bring governance closer to the people.
