Gombe State political shifts intensify ahead of 2027 elections

Political activity in Gombe State is intensifying ahead of the 2027 general elections. Alhaji Abdulkadir Hamma Saleh, a former governorship aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Saleh, who previously contested the PDP ticket against Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has called on his supporters to follow him to the APC.

In a separate development, the Gombe State chapter of the Nigeria Amalgamated Traders and Artisans Development Association has endorsed Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna as the APC governorship candidate for 2027. The association's chairman, Alhaji Auwalu Abdulkadir, pledged to use the group's grassroots networks to mobilize support for Gwamna and other APC candidates across the state.
