Gonçalo Inácio targeted by AC Milan and Barcelona
Sporting CP defender Gonçalo Inácio has become a central figure in summer transfer speculation following his unexpected absence from the starting lineup during a match against Alverca. His omission has fueled rumors of an imminent departure, with AC Milan and FC Barcelona emerging as primary suitors.
AC Milan, led by manager Rúben Amorim, is reportedly keen on the 24-year-old left-footed centre-back to bolster their defense. The connection is strengthened by Amorim’s previous experience coaching Inácio at Sporting. However, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has also been linked to Lisbon, with reports suggesting the club is prepared to trigger Inácio’s €60 million release clause to secure his services.
Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas has publicly downplayed the exit rumors, stating that Inácio is not among the players intended to leave, though he acknowledged that the club must respect release clauses if they are met.
In separate transfer news, Milan striker Santiago Gimenez is reportedly nearing a move to Porto, while winger Rafael Leao has indicated he may only consider a move to Galatasaray if he leaves Milan.
