Gond-Pontouvre introduces free organic snacks for students
The municipality of Gond-Pontouvre has launched a program providing free organic snacks to 130 children participating in extracurricular activities. The initiative, which includes dairy, cereal, and fruit products, is funded in part by the European “Lait et fruits à l’école” program.
Mayor Maryline Vinet stated the program aims to ensure equality and well-being for all children. The snacks are overseen by a dietician to limit sugar intake and feature certified organic, Label Rouge, IGP, or AOP products. Local officials expressed a goal to increase the proportion of organic products in school canteens from 25% to 80% by the end of the current mandate.
