Gonzalo Arango Arias: Founder of the Nadaísmo movement

Gonzalo Arango Arias, the founder of the Nadaísmo movement in Medellín during the 1960s, remains a significant figure in Colombian literature and journalism. Arango was known for his creative output across prose, verse, and journalism, including works published in Cromos and collected by the Universidad de Antioquia.

A lesser-known book titled ‘Oleajes de la sangre’ has surfaced, containing letters Arango wrote to his parents and sisters. In these letters, he used his family circle to announce the end of the Nadaísmo movement. The book was brought to light through the efforts of the late poet and lawyer Andrés Nanclares and his wife, Clarita, with a prologue by the poet Jotamario.
