González Byass and Verín launch major wine festivals in Spain

González Byass opened its Veraneá en la Bodega 2026 programme with a series of gastronomic evenings. The first dinner on 30 July featured Mantúa, a Michelin‑starred project by chef Israel Ramos, and the house restaurant Pedro Nolasco. Subsequent events included the Chilean‑style barbecue El Huaso on 5 August and, on 8 August, the Ronqueo Gastronómico with Petaca Chico centred on red tuna, followed by a Mexican‑inspired menu on 12 August created by sherry chef Javier Muñoz.

In Verín, the XIX Feira do Viño de Monterrei began with a speech by former futsal star Antía Pérez, who linked sport and viticulture. Local officials, including the mayor’s deputy Diego Lourenzo and provincial deputy José María Lago, attended. The ceremony also honoured three new members of the Cofradía de los Vinos de Monterrei, notably Enrique Fernández Pérez for promoting Monterrei wines in Germany and José Luis Mateo García for his ecological Quinta da Muradella project.
