Good Hope Raiders defeat Guntersville Wildcats 35-21

The Good Hope Raiders defeated the Guntersville Wildcats 35-21 on Friday night, securing a victory in Class 4A, Region 8. Good Hope established an early 21-0 lead in the first half, fueled by a 57-yard touchdown run by quarterback Parker Johnson and a rushing touchdown by Ryker Hancock.

Although Guntersville attempted a comeback in the second half, Good Hope maintained their lead to improve their overall record to 2-1 and their region record to 2-0. Coach Alan Scott noted that while the team faced technical errors and penalties that allowed Guntersville to gain momentum, the offense has been highly productive, averaging 35.3 points per game through three contests.

Key contributors for the Raiders included Parker Johnson, who accounted for multiple touchdowns through passing and rushing, and Ayden Young, who caught a touchdown pass from Web Buchanan. The team is scheduled for a week off following the win.
