Good Smile Company official shop suffers unauthorized access

Good Smile Company has announced that its official online shop was subject to unauthorized access by a third party between October 19 and October 22. The company confirmed that personal information of members may have been viewed during this period.

The potentially compromised data includes names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and order histories. Regarding payment information, the brand, the last four digits of the card number, and the expiration date may have been accessed; however, full card numbers, cardholder names, and security codes were not included.

The company has closed the official shop to conduct an investigation and has already begun repairing the system vulnerabilities believed to be the cause. While security enhancements are underway, the date for the shop's reopening remains undecided. Good Smile Company has reported the incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission and is notifying affected members individually. Customers are advised to remain vigilant against potential fraud, such as suspicious emails, calls, or SMS messages claiming to be from the company or financial institutions.
