Goodie Two Shoes wins Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood
Seven‑year‑old mare Goodie Two Shoes, owned by Irish billionaire JP McManus, captured the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes (Group Two) at Goodwood. Ridden by Joseph O’Brien, the filly started at 8‑1 odds and edged out Santorini Star by a nose in the final 100 yards.
The victory adds a fourth win to O’Brien and McManus’s successful Goodwood campaign and follows Goodie Two Shoes’s second‑place finish in the €6 million Melbourne Cup last November. Both O’Brien and AP McCoy praised the horse’s courage and the skillful ride, noting the race as a stepping‑stone toward a renewed Melbourne Cup target later in the season.
