Goodluck Jonathan calls for industrialization in Nigeria
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged the Nigerian Federal Government to prioritize industrialization, technical skills development, and local manufacturing to combat unemployment and drive economic growth.
Speaking at the unveiling of a tricycle production facility by Zeetin Engineering Factory in Abuja, Jonathan emphasized that Nigeria's large youth population represents a significant opportunity to build a productive economy. He advocated for transforming the nation into a major production hub to reduce reliance on imports and increase capacity for both domestic consumption and export.
Jonathan highlighted that successful manufacturing economies, such as China, rely on a combination of labor and highly skilled workers. He called for renewed investment in science, technology, and innovation to develop the country's human capital.
