Goodluck Jonathan commissions N58.7bn road projects in Bauchi

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has commissioned 18 township road projects in Bauchi State, covering a total distance of 49.7 kilometres. The infrastructure projects, valued at approximately N58.7 billion, were executed under the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

The road network is designed to link residential areas, commercial centers, schools, and public facilities within the Bauchi metropolis. The construction includes durable pavement, drainage, culverts, road markings, and solar-powered street lighting on selected routes. Additionally, the ceremony included the official foundation laying for four new recreational parks in the city.

During the event, Goodluck Jonathan emphasized that reliable infrastructure is essential for economic growth, stating that roads “connect communities, facilitate commerce, create opportunities and promote inclusive development.” He urged residents to protect and maintain the new infrastructure as a shared responsibility for the state’s future.
