Goodluck Jonathan commissions road projects in Bauchi

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commissioned a series of township road projects in the Bauchi metropolis. The completed works, executed by the Bauchi State Government under Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, consist of approximately 18 roads spanning a total length of 49.7 kilometres.

The projects were completed at an estimated cost of ₦13.7 billion and include features such as durable pavements, drainage systems, traffic signs, road markings, speed-calming measures, and solar-powered street lighting on selected routes. The infrastructure is intended to improve connectivity, enhance security, and facilitate commerce within the state capital.

During the ceremony, Goodluck Jonathan commended Governor Mohammed for his investment in infrastructure, noting that roads are critical for economic growth and inclusive development. Governor Mohammed stated that his administration aims to construct at least 5,000 kilometres of roads across the state, having completed approximately 3,000 kilometres since taking office in 2019.
