Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026 features electric supercars from Alpine, Mercedes and Denza

The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026 gathered up to 200,000 visitors on the grounds of Lord March in southern England. Among the showcases, Alpine ran the first public drives of its future A110 electric prototype, a draft machine with dual rear motors, a split‑pack battery and a strong emphasis on low mass. The company said a final version is expected at the Paris Motor Show in October. Mercedes‑AMG revealed the CLA 45 4MATIC+ electric sedan, powered by axial‑flux machines and rated at 680 hp with a claimed 670 km range from a 94 kWh battery. From China, BYD’s premium brand Denza introduced the Z supercar, a 1,604 hp, three‑motor electric car capable of 0‑100 km/h in 2.25 seconds and a top speed of up to 350 km/h. The Z also features “flash charging” that can raise the battery from 10 % to 97 % in nine minutes, demonstrated by former F1 driver Jenson Button and BYD executive Stella Li.
