Google addresses Android Auto bugs and foldable phone issues
Google is addressing technical issues affecting Android Auto users. A fix is being deployed to resolve a bug where the system would trigger unsolicited music playback upon vehicle startup, even when the autoplay setting was disabled. The update will also improve autoplay logic by excluding rarely or never-used applications and introducing a notification system that suggests disabling autoplay if a user consistently pauses music immediately after starting a drive.
Separately, users of foldable smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr Ultra, have reported a bug preventing voice-activated calls when the device is closed. Reports suggest the Gemini AI assistant may be responsible for this issue, as the problem appears to have emerged following the transition to the new AI system. While incoming calls function normally, outgoing calls via voice commands fail, often prompting the user to open the device to proceed.
