Google adds 60‑second AI video summaries to NotebookLM
Google has introduced a new feature called Short Video Overviews for its NotebookLM AI workspace. The tool analyses documents, notes or other user‑provided material and automatically creates vertical videos of up to 60 seconds that include narration, subtitles and visual cues. It is designed to replace passive short‑form video consumption with concise educational summaries, a response to what Google calls “brain rot”. The feature is currently being rolled out to subscribers of the Google AI Ultra and AI Pro plans on both web and mobile, with a free‑tier release planned for a later date. By summarising complex content in a TikTok‑style format, Google aims to help students and professionals quickly grasp key concepts without reading full texts.
