Google adds AI agent to Ad Manager platform
Google announced the integration of an AI‑driven agent, called Ask Ad Manager, into its Ad Manager platform. Built on the Gemini large‑language model, the tool lets publishers query performance data and campaign metrics using natural‑language prompts, reducing the need for manual report generation.
The rollout includes new developer resources such as REST APIs and an MCP server to support automated trafficking workflows. Early adopters like Yahoo have embedded the platform into custom agents to automate tasks such as forecasting, line‑item creation and reporting, reporting efficiency gains of up to 20%, according to a pilot study. Google says the agentic capabilities will help publishers and agencies discover, negotiate and execute campaigns directly from the platform.
While the AI features aim to streamline ad operations and cut costs, Google cautions that firms must maintain strict data‑governance, SOC 2 compliance and monitor for privacy or algorithmic‑bias risks.
