Google adds Gmail warning to prevent accidental BCC exposure

Google has rolled out a new warning in Gmail that appears when a user clicks “Reply all” on a message in which they were added via BCC. A yellow banner notifies the user that replying to all will reveal their hidden‑copy status and expose their email address to other recipients. The alert is shown only in this specific scenario, not for every “Reply all” action, and it offers a quick option to switch to a standard reply.

The feature is enabled automatically for all Gmail accounts, including Google Workspace and personal users, and is intended to reduce privacy‑related mishaps caused by unintentionally disclosing a BCC recipient.

The warning text reads, in Slovak, “Táto správa bola označená ako skrytá kópia. Odpovedaním všetkým dáte všetkým vedieť, že ste boli zahrnutí,” informing users of the potential exposure before the message is sent.
