Google adds Hindi support and live transit updates to Ask Maps in India

Google announced that its Ask Maps feature in India will now support queries in Hindi, allowing users to ask natural‑language questions about places, routes and local recommendations in the local language.

The update also introduces a Personal Intelligence option that can link a user’s Gmail account (off by default) to provide personalised suggestions based on flight bookings, restaurant reservations and other email data. Users may enable conversation history so Ask Maps can recall prior queries.

Real‑time information is expanded with a new transit widget that shows live bus, metro and train schedules, traffic conditions, weather, and crowd levels at shops and restaurants. The rollout is part of Google’s broader effort to integrate Gemini‑powered AI with Google Maps data for a more conversational navigation experience.
