Google adds Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 to US Play Store with $20 discount

Google’s US Play Store now features the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 in a “Devices from the Google Store” carousel. The 40 mm and 44 mm variants are listed at $399.99 and $429.99 respectively, with a $20 promotional discount that runs until July 14. The promotion is visible on Android devices and opens a Google Store checkout page that uses saved payment details.

The watch is not yet part of Samsung’s regular lineup on the Google Store, and the listing appears only in the United States. Samsung’s own online store prices the 40 mm model at $339.99, while other retailers such as Amazon sell it for about $289, offering lower prices than the Google promotion. Analysts suggest consumers may wait for the upcoming Galaxy Watch 9, slated for reveal at Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 22, with pre‑orders expected the same day.

The move highlights Google’s expanding retail catalog beyond accessories, marking a rare instance of a third‑party Wear OS smartwatch being sold directly through Google’s app marketplace.
