Google announces Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep
Google has announced the Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep, a themed wearable designed to integrate directly with the Pokémon Sleep application. The device utilizes the screenless Fitbit Air hardware to track sleep data automatically, which is then transferred to the app via Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS.
By linking sleep metrics to game mechanics, the collaboration aims to motivate users to improve their rest. Better sleep generates ‘Drowsy Power’ within the app, attracting various Pokémon to gather around the character Snorlax.
The tracker includes sensors for heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), skin temperature, and atrial fibrillation. It features a seven-day battery life, with a five-minute charge providing approximately one day of use. The special edition is distinguished by a ‘Sleepy Blue’ textile band with a silk-printed Sleeping Pikachu label. The device is priced at a reservation rate of $129.99.
