Google Pixel 11 price hike confirmed amid global memory shortage
Google will unveil its Pixel 11 smartphone family on August 12, 2026, in New York City. The lineup — Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold — will be powered by the new Tensor G6 processor built on TSMC’s 2 nm process.
Google has confirmed that the entire Pixel family will see price increases because of an unprecedented rise in RAM costs. According to Morgan Stanley data, the price of 1 GB of mobile RAM has jumped from about $2.80 in 2025 to roughly $12 in 2026, a six‑fold increase driven by soaring demand from AI data‑center accelerators. As a result, the base price of the new devices is expected to be around $100 higher than the previous generation. Storage configurations will shift from a 128 GB base to 256 GB, and the Pixel 11 Pro may drop from 16 GB to 12 GB of RAM. The price adjustments will also be applied dynamically to existing Pixel models, such as the Pixel 10a.
Google says it will continue to offer promotions, trade‑in programs and other incentives, and it is working on Android‑level software optimizations to reduce memory demand.
