Google appoints Marcela Jiménez to lead Workspace in Latin America

Google has appointed Marcela Jiménez as the new Director of Google Workspace for Latin America. With over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, Jiménez will lead the regional strategy to drive business transformation through artificial intelligence.

Jiménez aims to guide organizations in the region toward an ‘agentic era,’ where technology functions as an active collaborator rather than a passive tool. Her focus includes promoting capabilities such as Workspace Intelligence to enhance productivity, agility, and inclusivity within professional environments.

Regional data highlights the growing importance of these tools. According to a study by Google Cloud, IDC, and Provokers, 59% of professionals in Brazil use AI agents at work, compared to a Latin American average of 54%. Additionally, 71% of Brazilian professionals report using AI assistants, exceeding the regional average of 63%.
