Google appoints Nitin Gajria as MD for Southeast and South Asia

Google has appointed Nitin Gajria as the Managing Director for Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier Markets. Based in Singapore, Gajria will oversee commercial strategies as the region experiences rapid digitalization and high interest in artificial intelligence.

Gajria brings over 25 years of industry experience to the role, having previously served as Google’s Managing Director of Partnerships for Asia Pacific. His career at Google includes leadership roles in Sub-Saharan Africa and positions as country director for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

The appointment aligns with Google’s strategic focus on AI-led growth in the region. According to the company, consumer interest in AI in Southeast Asia is currently three times the global average, and active users of Google’s Gemini app have more than doubled over the past year.
