Google begins construction of data center in Dalarna

Google has commenced construction on its new data center in Horndal, located within the Avesta municipality in Dalarna, Sweden. The project, which saw its first groundbreaking in June, marks a significant development for the region following the company's land acquisition a decade ago.

The tech giant is currently recruiting personnel for the facility, offering annual salaries of approximately 940,000 SEK plus a potential 15 percent bonus. Job requirements for technical roles include at least nine years of experience as an electrician, the physical ability to lift 25 kilograms, and a readiness to work irregular hours and perform risk assessments.
