Google Chrome 150 patch addresses critical memory vulnerabilities

Google released an emergency security update for Chrome version 150, fixing seven memory‑related flaws. Three use‑after‑free bugs rated critical affect the CameraCapture, GPU acceleration and Network components, while three high‑severity use‑after‑free issues involve Cast, Ozone and Aura. The seventh flaw is an out‑of‑bounds read/write error in the V8 JavaScript engine, reported by OpenAI’s Codex Security tool. The update, available for Windows, macOS and Linux (versions 150.0.7871.128/129), is being rolled out automatically and users are urged to install it promptly. Google has not observed active exploitation of these bugs, but notes that memory vulnerabilities in Chrome are frequently targeted. Since April, the company has patched more than 1,400 Chrome issues, including many memory bugs, and continues to migrate parts of the browser to safer languages such as Rust.
