Google Chrome 153 update patches 16 security vulnerabilities

Google has released Chrome version 153 to the Stable desktop channel to address 16 security vulnerabilities. The update includes fixes for two critical-severity flaws affecting the Dawn graphics component and WebGL.

The most severe issue, CVE-2026-93374, is a use-after-free vulnerability in Dawn, which is Chromium’s implementation of the WebGPU API. The second critical vulnerability, CVE-2026-93372, is a WebGL buffer overflow. Both flaws involve graphics-related components that process potentially untrusted content.

In addition to the critical fixes, the update resolves seven high-severity vulnerabilities. These include use-after-free and buffer overflow issues within the PDFium rendering component, as well as vulnerabilities in the Tracing, Skia, and Extensions components. The update is rolling out for Windows and macOS, with Linux versions following in the coming weeks.
