Google Chrome 154 rolls out with 108 security fixes
Google has released Chrome version 154 to the stable channel for Windows, Mac, and Linux users. The update is being rolled out in phases over several days and weeks.
This release includes fixes for 108 security vulnerabilities, 11 of which are classified as critical. While these flaws were identified, none were reported as being actively exploited at the time of the patch. The vulnerabilities were discovered through a combination of internal testing and external research, with Google awarding $18,000 in total to external researchers.
The security fixes address various issues, including 34 ‘use-after-free’ errors, authorization problems, and deceptive interfaces. Several critical flaws specifically affect ANGLE, the library responsible for translating graphic instructions to computer hardware, and the V8 engine used for JavaScript and WebAssembly.
