Google Chrome receives security patch and launches 64‑bit portable edition

Google released Chrome version 150.0.7871.181/182 for Windows and macOS, and version 150.0.7871.181 for Linux. The update closes 12 security vulnerabilities, including a high‑severity type‑confusion flaw, issues in WebAudio, ANGLE, Chromecast, extensions, Skia, the V8 JavaScript engine, GPU handling and the user interface. The patch will be rolled out automatically over the coming days, but users can trigger it manually via Help → About Google Chrome.

In parallel, PortableApps.com made available a 64‑bit portable build of Chrome (version 150.0.7871.182). Designed to run from a USB drive or cloud folder without installation, it retains the full feature set of the standard browser—speed, security, extensions, sync, incognito mode and automatic updates—while allowing users to carry their browsing environment between computers.
